Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. HBOT has been used safely for decades and is FDA-approved for multiple conditions. Our clinic follows strict safety protocols and medical guidelines. Minor ear pressure is the most common side effect, easily managed with simple techniques.

Everyone is different. The general rule of thumb is:

5-10 sessions for simple musculoskeletal injuries and general surgeries

10-20 sessions for sub-acute concussion/mild TBI's

Up to 40 sessions for chronic, long-standing health conditions such as autoimmune disorders and older strokes

In the first few minutes of a session you will feel pressure in your ears as they try to equalise with the pressure in the pod, similar to take-off in an aeroplane. Simple techniques such as closing your mouth, holding your nose and gently blowing works well, along with yawning and swallowing.

At the end of the treatment session, depressurisation will cause a gentle 'pop pop' sensation in your ears, which is generally very comfortable, similar to what you feel when a plane lands.

After the session your body will start using the extra oxygen. You may feel increased energy, improved focus, better sleep. After a few sessions, you should notice some positive healing changes happening in your body, depending on what your health concern/s are.

Each treatment is 60 minutes.

The pods at Hyperbaric Health are designed to limit feelings of claustrophobia with comfortable leather recliners and spacious ceiling height. The doors are large and transparent. Our technician will be closely monitoring the treatment session. If the treatment has to be terminated, our technician will depressurise the pod on request and open the door for exit.
