FAQ's

How long is the treatment?

Each treatment is 60 minutes.

Where are you located?

17B Airborne Road, Rosedale, North Shore, Auckland.  Easily accessible off the motorway, dedicated parking right outside.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is different.  The general rule of thumb is 5-10 sessions for simple musculoskeletal injuries and general surgeries, approximately 10-20 sessions for sub-acute concussion/mild TBI’s, and up to 40 sessions for chronic, long-standing health conditions such as autoimmune disorders and older strokes.

Can I use HBOT if I am pregnant?

Unfortunately, no.

What if I sometimes experience claustrophobia?

The pods at Hyperbaric Health are designed to limit feelings of claustrophobia with comfortable leather recliners and spacious ceiling height.  The doors are large and transparent.  Our technician will be closely monitoring the treatment session.  If the treatment has to be terminated, our technician will depressurise the pod on request and open the door for exit.

What will I feel during/after a session?

In the first few minutes of a session you will feel pressure in your ears as they try to equalise with the pressure in the pod.  Simple techniques such as closing your mouth, holding your nose and gently blowing works well, along with yawning and swallowing.

At the end of the treatment session, depressurisation will cause a gentle ‘pop pop’ sensation in your ears which is generally very comfortable.

After the session your body will start using the extra oxygen.  You may feel increased energy, improved focus, better sleep.  After a few sessions you should notice some positive healing changes happening in your body, depending of what your health concern/s are.

Do I keep my clothes on?

Yes, you are fully clothed.  We have a dedicated area for you to hang your jacket, put your valuables away in a locker, and take off your shoes and socks.  We provide clean socks for hygiene reasons.

Can I take my mobile phone and computer inside a pod?

Yes you can, just not the chargers.
